Sephora

As I have mentioned before, I love, love, love the store Sephora, so I thought what better way to spend my time in the store I love then work there and get paid and get a discount (of course). I filled out an application some time after my birthday and shortly before Thanksgiving, I got a call for an interview for a part-time seasonal position. After my second interview I received an offer as a Sephora "Castmember" (classy, I know) working the cashwrap (cashwrap=fancy for cash register) and my first day was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. This job was my first experience with retail and I must say, I was a little scared to come to work on the second day, which happened to be BLACK FRIDAY. Yeah, I'll say it again, my second day at my first retail job was black freaking friday. And you know what, I worked that cashwrap like a pro. Not only have I absorbed a ton of useful information, I've met a ton of really cool people/co-workers that I can now call my friends. And...word on the street is that I'm going to be hired on as a permanent!
For the longest time I have been trying to figure out why the words on my blog were not showing up. I had messed around with the layout and thought that may have had something to do with it. Since I'm at work, and it's REALLY slow, I decided to mess around with it and figure out what was wrong. And it wasn't very hard. Turns out somehow my font color got changed to the same color as my back ground color and the words were blending in. Problem solved and it only took 2 minutes after waiting 3 months.

So a lot has changed since I last posted. First of all, I got my results from the LSAT back. They were supposed to be available on Monday, October 19. Well on Saturday the 17th, we are heading home from the gym at 8:30 p.m. (yeah, we had big plans) and we pull into the drive way. I get an email on my iphone and decide to look at it before going inside. Not thinking that it would be my LSAT results because clearly, it's not Monday, I look at the email thinking it will be instructions or a password to get my results or something....just not the actual results. I. Was. Wrong. I look at the email and it says I got a 141. Right at that moment a tear fell and I said, "I think I am just going to sit here for a minute." And that was it. I gave up on not telling people my score because EVERYONE and their mom were asking me what I got. Nevermind the fact I told them before I took it that if I don't come up to you jumping up and down to tell you my score then DON'T ask.

It's almost January now and I haven't decided exactly what I am going to do. I will either take the LSAT again in June or start getting everything ready to begin applying to schools next year. Haven't decided and at this point, I'm not all that worried about it. I no longer feel the need to complete goals based on when other people are completing theirs.

As I said before...

I have been majorily slacking. Since the last post about my earrings from Target, I have made a ton of purchases. Shocking, I know. The LSAT has been driving me crazy, thank god I had my birthday as a distraction. So the day of my birthday, I open up my TEMPTU Airbrush System (review coming soon) and leave work to head to Sephora for my one on one session with the only girl in our store who attended the training in New York. This worked out great for me because I needed to get my makeup done before the boyfriend and I headed to dinner. The results were great with the exception of my poor color choice but I went with it anyway. I also purchased three new MUFE eyeshadows. After my makeup session was complete, I made my way to Express and picked up a boyfriend jacket and a cute black dress that was very Kim Kardashianish. I was still able to make it home before my bf got home from work. As I was in the bathroom doing my eye makeup and last minute touch ups, he comes in the bathroom with his hands behind his back and tells me to pick a hand. I'm thinking it would be really nice if one hand had a round cut diamond solitare ring in it and he must have read my mind because he jokingly said "I'm about to propose." Ummm......a big fat yeah right! I didn't even get my hopes up because there is no way he would propose to me like that and I was right. I picked a hand and it had nothing and then I picked the other and what do you know, it too had nothing. So at this point I'm getting a little irritated because I'm still thinking about the whole "proposal" thing and he pulls me out of the room. Sitting on the corner of the bed is a Christian Louboutin box and then it hits me! I yell "shut the heck up!" as I open the box. They are the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen and also the tallest shoes I have ever seen. The freaking heel is so tall that even a size five is slightly too big. I'm going to make them work though-even if I trip, fall, and break my ankle.

Even though no one is reading....I have been slacking majorly! I have been gearing up for the LSAT, which I took yesterday, and I have 8 words. IT SUCKED-DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT! But I'm glad it's over. I have lots to share. And I have Jury Duty tomorrow.

Like I have said before......I have an addiction. These are my recent purchase from my daily (I'm serious) trip to Target. Love them! And they look even better on me. $5.99. You can't beat that.

Birthday Time!!!

So.... my birthday is a mere 6 days away and I am getting excited! I posted that I had a decision to make about whether or not I wanted to go ahead with my original plan and ask for the Christian Louboutin dream shoes or choose a cheaper alternative. Well I finally decided and one (yes, there are more) pair arrived today.

Okay, I'm giving up. I was going to post a picture of my shoes right here but every time I click attach photo, my computer messes up. If you want to see them, check out http://www.stevemadden.com/

update:

They are Wrappup by Steve Madden. I decided to get two pairs from Steve Madden along with the Temptu Airbrush System with foundation, highlighter, and blush, instead of one pair of beautiful, lovely, Christian Louboutins. Sigh. I guess I will have to wait a little while longer for my heaven on earth. Until then-I'll be rockin my Steve Maddens! I forgot to mention the other pair I got are a pair of pumps called Shooter. They are very basic and very similar to my beloved CL's except for the most important element, the red sole. I like the wrappup because they looked like something Kim Kardashian would wear and I actually got the idea to look at the Steve Madden site from her stylist Monica Rose's blog. Next up will be my absolute favorite makeup right now MAKE UP FOR EVER. I want to get some more eyeshadow (I currently have four) and a couple of other things. I had a plan to buy one eyeshadow every Friday but at $19.00 a pop we will see how that goes. Speaking of MUFE, QVC had an hour long special last night and I must say, I was not impressed. Not only were the items exactly the same price as they are at Sephora but they didn't have anything special that you couldn't get at Sephora. Why would you order something off of t.v. that you could just go to the store and pick up? I guess not everyone has a Sephora, but still! Plus they were only offering very generic shades like beige, medium, etc. when MUFE has so many shades that are numbered. In the HD Foundation I am number 125, which would mean what when I order from QVC? I got excited for nothing! I guess it was a good thing though, I saved a whole bunch of money.

Inspired by Court

Speaking of Court, I got reassigned to Jury Duty again and it falls on the Monday after the LSAT! You think I would gasp in horror as everyone I talk to HATES it and will find any way to get out of it. Well, not me. I have never had jury duty (if you don't count last week when I totally forgot) and have always, always wanted to be summoned. The court room actually gives me chills (in a good way-not the it creeps me out I've got to get out of here before they take me to jail kind of way), which may or may not be my motivation for aspiring to be an attorney. So anyways, as luck would have it about a month ago I got a summons in the mail requesting/demanding my presence on August 31 at 10:00 a.m. and I literally jumped for joy. Well the month of August was pretty busy with me studying for the LSAT and planning my mom's 50th birthday that I forgot a whole lotta important things. Number one, I forgot to call in payroll. Now, you have to be totally out of your mind busy to forget to make sure you get paid on pay day. Number 2...well this is how August 31 went.....It began just like any other day. I got to work around 8:45ish, did the usual=checked my personal email, perez hilton, all the blogs on my dashboard, x17online, britneyspears.com and last but not least, Facebook. Then I did some real work, like calling in payroll and telling them that I was picking up the checks ASAP. Then I repeated the usual-this repeat of the usual happens several times throughout the day and it's becoming a problem. Not for me, for my boss. Then I did some real work again. By that time it was lunch time so my boss and I hop in the car and head to pick up payroll. We decided to stop at an awesome deli for lunch. While I am in mid-chew of the best sweet potato fries I have ever had, I get a call from an unfamiliar number. I still have no idea. I answer the phone 'hello' with that tone of voice that you use when you don't know who it is that sounds like it says 'why are you calling me?' all the while saying hello. Ms. So and So says: Brandy, this is Ms. So and So from the court house and something about jury duty but it's so loud in the restaurant that I can't quite understand her. I still have no idea. I am thinking that she is calling to REMIND me of jury duty. Instead she tells me that I have in fact MISSED jury duty as it was TODAY and TWO hours ago! She also told me that she thought saying where she was calling from would have jogged my memory. But nope sure didn't. She was nice and said things happen. I was so mad at myself that I missed my one opportunity. Little did I know the JUDGE called my other boss and complained that I missed and that he didn't expect that from someone in the 'legal community.' Clearly I didn't do it on purpose. My boss explained that it was by total accident and that I have been crazy busy studying for the LSAT. The judge understood but said that I would be put back in the pool. And as luck would have it, I got another summons yesterday. Lets just say I am most definitely not going to miss it this time. :)

Apparently I got distracted by my title and it ended up being almost my entire post. I was checking out Clever Girl Goes Blog yesterday and came across Tangles Out and I am hooked and inspired. Inspired to be myself. Thanks for making me laugh out loud at 3 a.m. and keeping me amused while experiencing insomnia. With all that has been going on how can I not be tired?

Am I Obsessed With You???

I've come to the realization that I am obsessed with makeup. Obsessed, in love, gotta have it, and always on a constant search for it. Every day I spend endless amounts of time scanning beauty blogs for info on all the latest beauty items. I get a daily email from Karen, the friendly neighborhood beauty addict at Makeup and Beauty Blog, then I make my way to Makeup by Renren, then Makeup by Tiffany. Each site I visit often leads me to another fellow beauty blogger with new and exciting reviews that add more items to my must have list. I just watched a video tutorial by Renren on a neutral bridal look using Steelo Cosmetics. Thankfully I am going to be able to try the look tomorrow with the items that I already have in beauty arsenal because Steelo has to be purchased online. And I HATE waiting! I like seeing something that I want and being able to hop in the car to head to Sephora. The only problem with that idea is that the Sephora in Augusta doesn't always have everything that I want.

Speaking of my love, Sephora....while my sister was in town this past weekend, we hit up the Sephora and I picked up a couple of items from my wish list. Actually, she bought two things for my birthday and I bought one. Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow # 9, a vibrant, matte lavender and #75, a neon pink. And the Opi Limited Edition Matte What's a tire jack? which is a matte black.

It's time for me to explore more beauty blogs to add new things to my list and subtract money from my checking account. I think I may need to join some kind of twelve step program.

Yes to Carrots

My favorite friendly neighborhood beauty addict, Karen over at http://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/ just did a review on Yes to Carrots Lip Tints. She is one of the many beauty blogs sites that I visit on a daily basis (actually I get an email of her updates daily) to satisfy my cravings of all things makeup! Her blog is pretty popular but I figured I'd give her a shout out anyway. Who knows, maybe she will gain a couple of followers from me? Her reviews are always very good and she always does swatches of how the colors come out. So....the next time I am at Walgreens or Target which will probably be today, I'm going to get my favorite tint-Chocolate Kiss.

September 22, 2009

My 27th birthday is on September 22, 2009, and I thought it would be fun to make a birthday registry at Sephora. I absolutely love Sephora and could spend hours in that store (as well as large amounts of money). I'm just getting started on my list but the thing I want most is the Temptu Airbrush System. It's a little pricey but from all the good things I have heard about through beauty blog Makeup by RenRen and the reviews on Sephora, I think it will be well worth it. Airbrush makeup is unlike any other makeup out there and is supposed to do wonders! Words can't express how excited I am to try this system. Not only does it make your face flawless, it has a super easy clean up. I just hope applying is as easy as it looks. Right now you can order it online through Sephora but it will be in stores mid-September. The Sephora in Augusta is one of the select stores that will be having an event that people can come to the store and watch a consultant apply it. I want to go to that before I get it to be sure that it is something I want. I'm marking my calendar and can't wait!

The search begins......

My boyfriend and I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday to satisfy my sweet tooth (with a piece of Cheesecake Factory Neopolitan Cheesecake). As we were leaving we saw the third most adorable puppy on earth. First comes Nola, my adorable babygirl (yorkiepoo) that is a year and a half olf and then Penny, Blake Lively's maltipoo. It was a tiny apricot, teacup poodle and at that moment I decided we have to get Nola a little sister. The BF agreed and said that he would like another child too but that we need to wait until he finds another job. So...I'm going to start looking for our next baby!
